SNOOP SELF-CONTAINED
COVERT CCTV SYSTEM

Carol Products has introduced the Snoop™ , a self-contained covert CCTV surveillance system that includes black-and-white CCD camera, video motion detector activation and recording (up to thousands of frames) onto a memory card the size of a postage stamp.

The Snoop lets you set up covert surveillance quickly without drawing attention to it. Using conventional equipment, covert surveillance is difficult to implement because it involves setting up a discreet camera and a trigger, running cables to a video recorder and possibly muddling through hours of tape to find the images. With the Snoop, you can quickly and easily set up your surveillance without drawing attention to it and then easily review the recorded events, making it far more effective. The Snoop is also ideal for anyone who needs covert surveillance but does not have a lot of experience or comfort with it, or the time and patience.

Using the Snoop PC software, which is included, you can configure schedules and recording parameters so that you get just what you want. You simply face the Snoop toward the area you need to watch. A built-in video output lets you temporarily connect a monitor to verify coverage. When you need to see recorded events, you remove the memory card and insert it into a reader attached to your PC via USB to play them. You can view individual frames or play them sequentially and adjust the speed. Each frame is date/time stamped.

The Snoop software is Windows based and easy to use. Among the recording parameters you can set to insure that you capture nothing more and nothing less than you wish are recording quality (resolution, from 5K to 20K), number of frames recorded after each trigger, recording rate (frames per sec./secs. per frame), time between triggers, and either recording until memory is full or cyclic recording over oldest images. You can also configure the video motion detector to be sensitive only to certain areas on a grid, and can use the scheduler to set the hours of each day of the week when recording is activated. Your selections are recorded onto the memory card and read by the Snoop when the card is re-inserted.

A remote control that is included allows you to arm and disarm the Snoop with pass code protection or you can choose automatic arming upon insertion of the memory card.

Currently available Snoop enclosures include a clock, computer stereo speakers, emergency light, exit sign, notebook binder, portable radio, smoke detector and thermostat. A Snoop In-a-Snap that lets you set up a Snoop system using your own enclosure and camera (or a camera Carol Products offers) is also available as are custom built versions.
The minimum system requirements are Pentium II 200Mhz or higher PC, 16MB RAM or higher, Super VGA or higher, 640x480 resolution display–16 bit or higher, Windows 95,98, 2000, ME or XP and Internet Explorer 5.0TM or higher.
